Artist Bio: Hussein Madi (1938, Lebanon) is a Lebanese painter and sculptor. He studied painting, sculpture and etching in Beirut (at the Lebanese Academy of Fine Arts) and Rome (at the Academia di Belle Arti). . He researched Egypt's and the Arab world's cultural heritage, returning to Lebanon in 1986 where taught sculpture and engraving at the institute of Fine Arts of the Lebanese University and, at the Lebanese Academy of Fine Arts from '58 to '62. He has exhibited in Europe since 1965, his art showcased at the British Museum, the Venice Biennale and Tokyo's Ueno Museum.
